Over the past two weeks I have found a great deal of positivity coming from seeing how humanity can slow antimatter, land expedition probes on Mars. Our scientific endeavours, not just the tide of opinion articles and speculation, but the ability to prove and explore reflects something very powerful and beautiful about the human spirit.

The discoveries we make about the world, like the ones we make ourselves come from the effort of personal explorations within the mind, an expedition where we are encouraged and aided by a number of those close to us, or inspired us. From each of these wonderful things, the seed of them resides within the human will. Your will, as well as anyone else’s.

Potential is the beginning, the root of all that grows. It is invisible, before that sprout punches through. Some people I’m speaking to here are trees. Some are sprouts. And a lot of you are seedlings, with low visibility in your own mind. But with absolutely the same potential.

I notice in my studies and research for the day how a complete picture we see on the internet or outside came from a lot of separate strands coming together, like the fibres that compose muscle, or the threads making a web. To even read this; you explored your own potential for years. Maybe a family member or a class taught you your letters, a friend helped you out with difficulties spelling one. Maybe you struggled, but you got there and all of these words I’m saying are proof of your creative endeavours and widening yourself up to open a door of learning and information.

From discovery comes utility and understanding. When I look at a picture of a beautiful work desk, I realise a lot of different ingredients came together to put that vision in mind, something designed to propel a workload like the workbench and tools of a carpenter. When we on the site hear about your hobbies, your abilities and projects, we see the passion and the excellence that will yield noteworthy results, even if the nature of those results is impossible to fully perceive.

By building up, you cast the negativity down. Every deadline you hit, every little line of notes, every appointment kept while slogging and small is a blow to the enemies of human thought. I’ve heard from powerful and noteworthy individuals that to combat despair, just count in your mind each thing you have done, each thing you are grateful for. Just how long a list is there of iron certainties, of things that people know you did, and the things that you know will be happening coming from you?

As you grow, confidence will grow with you. Your demons will be something you can shrink, face directly, and overcome. Your resources, intelligence, and character will battle and win. I know you all have the potential. I know you are looking for it here. And I sincerely hope you find it.
