I am aspiring author, recent MA postgraduate, developing my writing talents and trying to distinguish myself in that field. I'm a voracious reader, with a great love of cooking, art, and horticulture.

How unique is My Art Uplifts to you?

The reach of the initiative to perceive the influence it has upon the local community, and how it positively integrates artists into its aim of building up mental fortitude and actively pursuing more pieces, more creations and methods all with the unified interest of uplifting others, as stated within the name.

Why did you choose My Art Uplifts?

I was searching for an opportunity for my words and my name to be published for the first time. I wanted to contribute something of meaning for a good cause, and develop my abilities by making improvements and finding consistency in writing articles that promised to uplift and inspire people in need.

Describe your commitment?

Very devoted. A catalog of articles has been built with a great deal of care. Often I have more writing than necessary to be submitted, and I very much enjoy the opportunities and feedback. The comfortable position of a Tuesday weekly article demonstrates my serious and productive manner, and I am very happy to be working with the initiative in this capacity. I would certainly consider others if offered to me.

What does art mean to you? And how does it make you feel?

Art to me is an expression of creation, performed with unconditional love and effort. It is difficult to describe the process or my feelings towards it honestly, but I believe true competence, let alone distinction in any field contacts an awareness and bringing of 'art; into the nuances of performance and planning. There is an 'art' to sweeping, writing an article, wearing a particular piece of clothing.

I find art has the incredible capacity to make us feel both any emotion, and overlapping qualities of other separate feelings and sensations. Its emphatic potential is a serious responsibility, part of the reason I chose and enjoy the position here is because of the potential to spread hope, determination and optimism in people who need it and fulfill a positive purpose, when unfortunately I believe most art pushed by modern culture is fixated on negative feeling and demoralizing the populace.

How would you describe your philosophy of life?

That in an uncertain universe, there is both overwhelming horror and struggle, and a depth of joy and compassion that allows us to try to master ourselves.

I have no idea why, or my feelings about it or the purpose, but there is an undeniable personal fulfilment in performing what I believe to be my duty; which is to aid others by helping them realize their potential, to use my developing writing ability to influence positive changes.

We each either have some destined purpose, we find one, or we create our own. And the universe rewards us with advancement and progress as we strive to improve in our personal arena.
